Grandy Organics was founded in 1979 by Sarah Carpenter and Penny Hood in Farmington, Maine, and now makes its granola and snack assortment in Hiram, Maine. The business began with a shared interest in good food, joyful living and care for the earth. Today its commitment to organic ingredients and small-batch production continues at a solar-powered bakery, reflecting those early values.
Ancient Grain Granola combines gluten-free oats with buckwheat, amaranth, quinoa and pumpkin seeds. Cinnamon adds flavor to the oat-and-seed clusters. The store and manufacturer list 9 oz and 10 oz bags and six-bag packs in either size. The ingredient statement below comes from the pictured 9 oz back label. It should be checked against the selected size because the manufacturer’s current webpage uses a different ingredient statement.
Ingredients: Organic certified gluten free oats, organic buckwheat, organic pumpkin seeds, organic high oleic sunflower oil, organic cane sugar, organic cassava root, organic oat syrup solids, organic amaranth, organic quinoa, organic cinnamon, sea salt, organic tapioca starch.
Ingredient source: Pictured 9 oz package, back-label image; checked October 18, 2026. Manufacturer webpage differs; 10 oz formulation unverified.
No separate Contains statement is supplied in the ingredient source used here. This does not establish allergen-free status. The bakery handles peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and soy; newer package images also identify sesame. Review the exact package for its current cross-contact statement and do not treat organic or gluten-free labeling as a guarantee that the product suits every food allergy.
Enjoy it with milk or a compatible alternative, layer it with yogurt and fruit, or add a small amount to a smoothie bowl. Sprinkle it on shortly before eating if you prefer a crunchy topping. Compare a single bag with the corresponding six-pack by checking both the size of each bag and the total quantity. This is a mixed-grain granola, so it should not be confused with the bakery’s grain-free coconut Coconola products.
Store the dry product in a cool, dry place and keep the bag closed between uses. If transferring it to another container, use a clean, airtight food container and retain the ingredient label and best-by information. The manufacturer describes a 12-month shelf life under suitable storage conditions; that is not a promise of 12 months remaining when delivered. Use the date printed on the supplied package.
The manufacturer identifies Hiram, Maine, United States, as the location where its finished products are made in small batches. This production statement applies to Ancient Grain Granola and is separate from the growing countries of its ingredients. The company sources ingredients domestically and internationally; an all-U.S.-ingredient claim has not been established.
The product is sold as certified organic. For background on what organic labeling means, see the USDA organic labeling standards. Organic status and country of origin answer different questions; an organic label alone does not identify where each ingredient was grown.
