Wicks Forge was founded by Nicholas Wicks Moreau, who dates the forge’s beginnings to 2013 after an online launch in October 2012. Its current business address is Salem, New York, and its team also has roots in Maine. Moreau began with inherited family tools after a blacksmithing apprenticeship in Scotland. The company makes useful everyday metalwork, values accessible craftsmanship and honors the blacksmith’s tradition of community service.

30" Legacy Fire Poker – 1/2" Forged Steel Stock

Choose a substantial hearth poker made from half-inch round steel stock. The 30-inch Legacy design combines a poker end with a harpoon-style hook for shifting and pulling firewood. It is thicker than the Leaf Wrap model and slightly shorter than the 34-inch Heritage poker.

Compare the stock thickness as well as the total length when choosing a fire tool. The heavier section is a practical difference from a slender decorative poker, while the hook provides another way to reposition a log. This is a single-tool listing.

Returns for this product

For this standard, non-personalized item, the supplier allows returns within 30 days of receipt. Change-of-mind return postage is paid by the customer; a supplier-created label may be deducted from the refund. Materials and finish

Forged steel round stock with a brushed and natural-wax finish.

Hand-forging can create small differences in surface texture, shape and dimensions. Measurements are approximate rather than precision-machined tolerances. Keep the protective surface maintained so the metal stays ready for its intended use.

Care and use

Let the tool cool before cleaning or storing it. Wipe it dry and keep it indoors or in a sheltered, dry place between uses. Steel can develop surface rust when exposed to moisture. Remove light rust with a suitable scouring pad or brush, then apply a thin protective oil layer to cool, cleaned metal. Keep any oil or refinishing product away from open flames and follow its instructions.

Use the tool only where you can work comfortably without reaching into flames. A fire poker or grabber does not replace the stove or fireplace maker’s operating instructions.
