Its current business address is Salem, New York, and its team also has roots in Maine. Moreau began with inherited family tools after a blacksmithing apprenticeship in Scotland. The company makes useful everyday metalwork, values accessible craftsmanship and honors the blacksmith’s tradition of community service.

Mini Fireplace Tool Set – 22" Log Grabber & 26" Poker

Manage smaller hearths with a matched pair of hand-forged fire tools. The mini log grabber holds a log at three points, while the separate poker lets you adjust its position inside a wood stove or compact fireplace. The shorter format suits a confined firebox without the reach of a full-size outdoor poker.

Compare both tool lengths with the depth and opening of your stove before ordering. The grabber and poker perform different jobs: one grips the log, while the other nudges or pulls it into position. Wipe it dry and keep it indoors or in a sheltered, dry place between uses. Steel can develop surface rust when exposed to moisture. Remove light rust with a suitable scouring pad or brush, then apply a thin protective oil layer to cool, cleaned metal. Keep any oil or refinishing product away from open flames and follow its instructions.

Use the tool only where you can work comfortably without reaching into flames. A fire poker or grabber does not replace the stove or fireplace maker’s operating instructions. Store cooled tools where they cannot be knocked over.
