Puzzle Sorting Trays | Six Recycled Cardboard Nesting Trays

Founded in 2007 by Adam Silver and Sarah Dickinson, New York Puzzle Company is based in Brooklyn, New York. The college friends began with a jigsaw puzzle of the New York City subway map. Their range centers on illustration, classic book art, and nostalgic images chosen to make everyday puzzling engaging. Recycled puzzle board and USA production reflect the company’s focus on thoughtful materials and domestic manufacturing.

Puzzle Sorting Trays | Six Recycled Cardboard Nesting Trays

Organize loose jigsaw pieces with six numbered nesting trays in blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and pink. Made in the USA from recycled cardboard, this accessory offers separate places to collect colors, patterns, and borders while keeping pieces close to the working picture.

Assign the six colors to the groups that help your current puzzle: edge pieces, a repeated color, a particular pattern, or a recognizable part of the illustration. The numbers make it easier to keep track of those groups when several people are working together. Spread the trays around a flat table during sorting, then nest the emptied trays together when you want to clear the work area.

The outer tray measures 8 by 10 by 1.125 inches, while the other trays step down in size to fit inside one another. Compare that outer footprint with the free space around your puzzle before setting up. The set is a sorting accessory; a jigsaw puzzle is purchased separately.

The different colors let you identify a group at a glance without covering the artwork with labels. You can change the way you assign each tray from one puzzle to the next, making the set useful for a mixed collection of small and full-size jigsaws. Keep each tray on a stable surface while selecting pieces, and lift it carefully from the base when moving to another part of the table.

Materials and construction

The supplier specifies 100% recycled cardboard and describes the paper as FSC certified. Both the trays and their packaging are described as plastic-free. The paperboard construction keeps the accessory aligned with the cardboard puzzles it organizes. Six different colors and printed numbers distinguish the trays, so each can be assigned to a different group of dry puzzle pieces.

Care and storage

Keep the paperboard trays dry and use them on a stable, level table. Brush away puzzle dust with a soft, dry cloth rather than wet-washing or soaking the cardboard. Empty the trays before nesting them together for storage, and lift each tray from underneath when moving pieces. Store away from moisture and direct sunlight. These are practical handling suggestions for a cardboard accessory; follow any care instructions included with the set.
