• Sowing: For best results, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost.
• Depth: Lightly press seeds into the soil surface. Do not cover, as they need light to germinate.
• Germination: Keep soil moist but not soggy. Germination typically takes 14-21 days.
• Spacing: After the last frost, transplant seedlings outdoors, spacing them 12-18 inches apart.
• Light Requirement: Full Sun to Partial Shade.
• Care: Balloon Flowers have a thick taproot and do not like to be moved once established, so choose your permanent spot carefully! They prefer well-draining soil and moderate watering.

Keep unused seeds dry and cool in a clearly labeled, closed container. Protect the packet from humidity and temperature swings, and retain the variety name and sowing notes for your next planting. Use the species-specific directions below when deciding whether to start indoors, sow directly, soak seeds, or provide a cold period. Germination and growth vary with seed handling and local growing conditions.
